This is a little list of useful phrasal verbs. CAUTION!!!!Some phrasal verbs have more than one meaning
Phrasal Verbs:
- ask for: Request to have or be given
- break down: Stop working
- bump into: Meet by accident or unexpectedly
- carry on: Continue
- eat in/out: Eat at home/ in a restaurant
- fill in: Complete a form
- find out: Discover
- get on with: Have a good relationship
- give up: Stop doing something
- go ahead: Proceed
- go on: Continue
- go out: Leave a place
- grow up: Mature
- hang up: End a phone call
- look after: Take care
- look forward to: Wait for or anticipate something pleasant
- pass away: Die
- take up: Start a new hobby, pastime, etc.
- try on: Put clothes on to see if they fit
- turn off/on: Stop /start a machine
- slow down: Reduce speed
- warm up: Do exercises before a sport
- wrap up: Cover in paper
